Real Estate Attorneys
Sooner or later you will need to involve an attorney in the sale or purchase of
property. An experienced, knowledgeable real estate attorney can review your offer,
counter-offer and contract before you sign, or prepare the contract for sale and
purchase. They can also work with mortgage brokers and other attorneys to simplify
and speed up the closing process. They will advise you, the client, as to procedures
relating to the closing and monitor compliance with the terms of the contract. They
will also review or prepare closing documents including the closing statement (see
HUD Settlement Statement) and explain any terms that are not familiar to you (see
Glossary). They will attend the closing and supervise delivery of closing documents
after verification of the closing figures, and have the deed recorded.
